ToggleOn August 7, 2025, LIPS Corporation and LEON ENERGY CO., LTD. officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Taipei to jointly promote AI-based traffic recognition integration and co-develop a next-generation smart traffic solution empowered by real-time perception and edge computing capabilities.
LEON ENERGY brings extensive deployment resources across key traffic zones—including New Taipei City, Taoyuan, and Tainan—and will further introduce AI edge nodes to establish an uninterrupted and sustainable infrastructure for smart traffic systems.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to further expand the application of artificial intelligence, especially in the deep integration of Edge AI,” said LIPS CEO Luke Liu and LEON Chairman Yo-Cheng Chen in a joint statement.
“This initiative not only enhances traffic safety but also accelerates smart city development by enabling real-time, efficient, and forward-looking transportation solutions.”
This partnership combines LIPS’s deep expertise in 3D sensing and edge AI technologies with LEON’s leadership in traffic backup systems and large-scale infrastructure deployment. Together, the two companies will advance AI-powered “People-Centric Mobility” across Taiwan, while integrating NVIDIA’s industryleading technologies to accelerate the implementation of smart traffic demonstration zones.
Key Advantages of LIPS’s Next-Gen Smart Traffic Solution
-
Real-time Edge AI Inference — Operates even without internet connectivity
Enables independent on-site processing, real-time anomaly detection, and cloud-free operation to enhance safety and responsiveness.
-
360° Multi-Camera Dynamic Tracking — Full coverage for pedestrian and vehicle flow
Designed for high-traffic urban intersections, offering complete scene awareness and trajectory analysis to reduce accidents and improve traffic resilience.
-
Automatic Camera Calibration — Rapid deployment with zero complexity
No calibration boards or manual setup required. The system supports fast, scalable deployment to meet large-scale infrastructure needs.
Building Smart Cities and Demonstration Zones Across Taiwan
With over 60,000 intersections across Taiwan set to adopt smart traffic systems in the coming years, this collaboration aligns with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ policy of “People-Centric Mobility”—focusing on system integration, service innovation, and encouraging AI deployment in high-potential scenarios to create real-world applications and a smarter, safer, and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
This vision also resonates with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s concept of an AIpowered future city.
LIPS and LEON are committed to driving real-world adoption of AI transportation
technologies, laying a strong foundation for Taiwan’s smart city evolution.
