Modern urban transportation networks are increasingly strained by complex road usage patterns. While authorities have attempted to implement automation, legacy surveillance systems frequently fail due to environmental interference, such as shadows, glare, or inclement weather.
LIMO addresses these technical bottlenecks by utilizing AI machine vision to provide systems with precise spatial perception. This technology identifies and categorizes heavy versus light vehicles to maintain safe distances, while also analyzing pedestrian walking patterns for enhanced spatial awareness.
By integrating pedestrian behavior prediction, LIMO achieves Proactive Accident Prevention—a standard previously unattainable with traditional tech. The system identifies potential collision risks and issues instantaneous alerts to Roadside Units (RSUs).
Furthermore, LIMO leverages on-device edge computing to analyze and generate dynamic traffic assignments in real-time, bypassing the latency of centralized cloud servers. This localized processing effectively resolves area-widespread traffic gridlocks caused by congestion in one spot. To ensure resilience in extreme scenarios, LIPS edge nodes support Island Mode, allowing localized traffic guidance and evacuation planning to remain fully operational even if the central system fails.
